On July 2, 2013, my second son was born. His name was Calaeb. I looked into his eyes and I was instantly attached to him as I held him for the very first time. I promised him at that time I would forever take care of him, love him, and always support him no mater what. Fast forward to less than 3 years later, my son Calaeb was diagnosed with being on the Autism Spectrum. My life as I knew it changed that very day due to his diagnosis. I didn’t know what to expect moving forward. I was lost in what to expect and what I needed to do. I didn’t know who to talk to or what questions to ask for that matter. I was in a total state of numbness! I look back and I realized I didn’t have to go through with it alone. I could have approached things a lot more differently and sought out the services I needed to help me fully understand what I was going through. THAT’S WHY I CREATED THIS SITE! Parents and Caregivers of Special Needs children should be fully aware of services they may need once their child has been diagnosed. In addition, I’m envisioning this site to offer the best educational products and learning tools that is conducive to teaching special needs children as they grow. My son Calaeb for instance likes to climb anything he can set foot in. Calaeb is very active due to being high sensory. He uses an indoor climbing apparatus to be able to satisfy his sensory inputs. With that said, my ultimate goal in creating this site is really to give parents/caregivers of special needs children, through my own experience, the immediate access to goods and support services they may need in order to build a strong foundation for their children to continue to learn and grow. My vision for this site in one year’s time is to hopefully be the first thought parents think of when needing to find specific resources for their special needs child. As a parent of an autistic, non-verbal child, I personally hope to make a positive difference in your child’s life as I continue to support my own who truly inspires me everyday I see his big smile. This one’s for you Calaeb!
